Anti-Plagiarism Policy

Anti-Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Machine Learning Innovations and Artificial Intelligence Horizons (JMLIAIH) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in research and publication. As part of this commitment, the journal has a strict anti-plagiarism policy to ensure that all published work is original and properly attributed.

  1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the unethical practice of using another person's work, ideas, or words without proper acknowledgment. It includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, images, or data from another source without citation.
  • Paraphrasing without proper acknowledgment of the source.
  • Self-plagiarism: Reusing significant parts of one’s previously published work without proper citation.

  1. Plagiarism Detection
  • All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using advanced plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin).
  • Any manuscript with a similarity index exceeding 15% (excluding references, direct quotes, and commonly used phrases) will be flagged for review.

  1. Actions for Identified Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process, the following actions will be taken:

Before Publication:

  1. The manuscript is returned to the authors for revision with a request to remove or properly attribute plagiarized content.
  2. In cases of significant plagiarism, the manuscript is rejected outright, and the authors are informed.

After Publication:

If plagiarism is identified in a published article, the journal will:

  • Publish a correction or retraction notice, depending on the severity of the plagiarism.
  • Notify the corresponding author’s institution or funding body.
  • Remove the article from the journal’s website, if necessary.

  1. Authors’ Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the submitted manuscript is original and properly cites all sources of data, ideas, and words.
  • Provide proper attribution to previous works, including the author’s own prior publications.
  • Avoid submitting manuscripts that have been previously published or are under consideration elsewhere.

  1. Editorial and Review Responsibilities
  • The editorial team and reviewers are vigilant in identifying plagiarism during the review process.
  • The journal uses plagiarism detection tools to assist in identifying potential issues before acceptance.

  1. Consequences of Plagiarism

Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and will result in:

  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript.
  • Potential ban of the authors from submitting to JMLIAIH for a specified period.
  • Reporting of the incident to the authors’ institution or funding body.
